What is THIS?!

Saw this display over the Co-Op this morning. Where did these come from!?

Calm down, it's only 170 calories so I thought it wouldn't hurt. And I followed it with a banana so that must have cancelled it out...

Anyway, much like the Flake Dipped (you can read my thoughts on those here) it's essentially one stick of a Twirl so by all means get one to try and to admire the lovely packaging, but you won't be tasting anything new - or anything you can't get twice the amount of in the form of a Twirl. Sorry Cadburys. I still love you but you can do better than this!

VERY Important Update

Cadburys workers today breathed a collective sigh of relief at the news that their biggest client is successfully reintroducing chocolate into her diet following a period of abstention that lasted 4 months.

The future of the confectionery brand was plunged into uncertainty when their number one customer, who has been known to eat as many of six bars of their chocolate a day, unexpectedly went off sweet foods during the first few months of her pregnancy, causing company profits to plummet.

The mystery chocoholic, who wished only to be known as "The Un-Working Girl", said in a statement "I'm very relieved that I can once again enjoy my favourite treats and am proud to be doing my bit for the UK economy during such difficult times".

One worker at Cadbury's confessed, "it was touch and go for a minute there but we're all hopeful that the business will recover now that she's back in the zone".

The Un-Working Girl said she could "neither confirm nor deny" that the baby's favourite chocolate bar appears to be a Boost.

Charity Work

I don't like to ram down peoples' throats the work I do for charity but I thought I would share a couple of recent things I've put myself through in the name of good causes:

Limited Edition Tickled Pink Flake, available at ASDA.
Cadbury Wishes is a star-shaped chunk of chocolate about the size of the palm of your hand, with a filling that appears to be a giant Wispa...
Percentages from the sales of both go to charities so it makes sense to eat LOADS of them.

The Fatkins Diet - You Won't Lose Weight but You'll Have a Great Time!

Nothing too exciting to report I'm afraid. Even though it was my birthday on Saturday I had a fairly quiet weekend. The above title came from the very appropriate card Nickers from Work got me. Below I have listed some of the very thoughtful presents I received. See if you can spot a pattern:

  • Luxury biscuits
  • a new mug for my new job
  • a multi pack of Flakes
  • 4 cans of Vimto
  • a massive bar of Dairy Milk
  • some cupcakes
  • a multi pack of Twirls
  • 4 bags of sweets
  • comedy cupcake cases

Below I have listed what's left:

  • Comedy cupcake cases

On Saturday night I watched the film Shutter Island which I thought was v good. If you like psychological thriller type films, you'll probably like this. Please let me know your thoughts if you have seen it.

Yesterday I was reading Look magazine and read an article about mother & daughter business partnerships. One such pair was Clare O'Connell and her mum Judith who run a cake company called Pop Bakery from their house in London.

It sounded interesting so I just googled it (did I mention I heart Google?) and discovered that they make these really pretty mini cakes called pops, because they are like little a cake on a lollipop stick! Although made in London, they can deliver anywhere in the UK.......Now where did I put that birthday money?

I Can't Flake Any More!

Right. I've got to get this off my chest.

I have eaten 30 Flakes (well, 38 including the non-promotional ones) in about 5 weeks. I have won 2 Benefit lipsticks.

My friend Suze has eaten 2 Flakes... and won 2 lipsticks. How is this happening?

I must stress that I do eat a ridiculous amount of Flakes (last week I got busted by Mr G, eating three in one day) and there are 1 million Benefit lipsticks to be won, so how come I have only won 2?

It's not even about the lipsticks, I would share them around. It's about my consumption-to-win ratio.

And another thing: When you go online to check whether you've won, it will only let you check two wrappers PER DAY!

Why does it feel like Cadbury's are subliminally daring me to eat so many Flakes that I die?
