Have just realised there may be people losing sleep over the fate of the iPhone.
It did arrive, on the correct day, at 20.50 (ten minutes before the closure of the 12 HOUR delivery window). I couldn't even complain at having been sat around all day waiting for it, as I actually don't have anything else to do.
Anyway, I now know how my mother feels trying to work the DVD player, or any manner of other electrical appliance. It's a little bit tricky to get the hang of but I am getting there. Very slowly...
