The Un-Workinggirl Strikes Again
Oh my god, I really am such a cockface at times.
Today, in some kind of hormone / Capsiplex Slimming Pill-induced rage, I was about to throw my iPhone out the window in sheer frustration at the lack of responses I have been getting from Twitter. A few weeks ago I felt certain I was about to break into the mainstream and soon the book deal / regular panel slot on satirical talkshow was would be safely within my grasp, but since this had not happened within the space of about 15 days I can safely say I was on the verge of throwing all my toys out the pram and shutting down my account.
First the Dirk Benedict interview fell through, then I missed Gemma Arterton on the red carpet, and now celebrities were routinely avoiding my, quite frankly, horrifically desperate attempts to attract their attention.
So you can just imagine my excitement when a genuine celeb (and a really decent one at that) tweets me asking for a link to my blog.
In what will now forevermore be known as my "I. Carried. A. Watermelon?" moment...
I. Typed. The. Wrong. Blog. Address?

Tweets, Blogs and Big Hugs All Round.
I should explain... The reason I Tweeted Sara Cox was because she's been writing some fantastically witty blog posts about parenting recently, (which you can read here) and she was upset because some people had taken the time to post really negative comments underneath.
I have been really fortunate that the majority of the feedback I get is lovely and supportive, but on the occasions where people have been a bit mean, or misunderstood my point, I have taken it really personally. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I'm just one insignificant person rambling on about things that seem funny or important to me at the time - I never set out to offend anyone or for much of it to be taken too seriously, and I don't understand why some people are so nasty. Anyone who has ever lingered over the comments sections of thisisplymouth will understand what I mean. Come on everyone, hug it out!
When I do eventually achieve global stardom (which, face it, is now imminent since I've just become BFFs with Coxy) I know I'm going to find it difficult to take any criticism.
So I just quickly wanted to say thanks to you all for being so lovely and supportive and for "getting it". Please check out Sara's blog, it's v funny.
Right, got to skedaddle. Me and Mr G are having a Virgin+ crisis - the box has just gone off in the middle of Law & Order UK!

HOW DO SARA!!!!
Just a quick post to say Hello to Sara Cox!
By a strange turn of events this evening we have shared a couple of tweets about blogging and I've sent her a link to my little old blog so fingers crossed she's reading this.
And now I can't think of anything funny to say to recruit her as first celebrity follower. BUMS.

Wooohooooo! Twittersphere I'm Over Here! Hello? Anyone?
In a bid to snare my first celebrity follower and spread Unworkinggirl love to the masses (repeat mantra: It WILL happen, it WILL happen, it WILL happen), I recently jumped on the Twitter bandwagon - Look at me keeping up with all the latest trends, I might even invest in this new gadget I've heard about called a mobile telephone soon.
Anyway, back to Twitter... I'm having something of a love/hate relationship with it at the moment.
Basically, it is bringing out my inner stalker who is merely lurking below the surface of my very being and has been laying dormant since I managed to find a decent chap.
All these celebrities constantly tempting you in by updating their statuses but can you get a response from any of them? Can you heck. The trouble is, that just makes me get more and more desperate to get their attention.
Well, I'm many things if not determined so if you've got a Twitter account you can follow my progress @unworkinggirl, and if you haven't you can still keep track of my attempts on the right hand side of the blog.
Also feel free to share the blog with anyone you think will enjoy it, or get in touch with me if you have any comments or suggestions.
Right, I'm off to badger Mario & Lisa from Big Brother,
Thanks for reading,
TUWK x

First Celebrity Follower?
For a long while I've been yapping on about my love of showbiz culture and my quest to find a celebrity fan of the blog.
I have long since suspected that the likes of Kate Moss, Fearne Cotton, Beyonce and maybe even my girl crush, Rihanna, cheer up their travel time with a quick goosey at The Un-Workinggirl and today I think Nickers and I found definitive and spectacular proof. Hold on to your seats everyone.
Recently, on my sister site, Un-Workinggirl, I broke the sensational story that after 28 years of crap hair, I've finally braved the chop and had a haircut I actually like. Here I am with my new hairdo, which I would describe as something of a messy bob.
Here is Exhibit B:
In Today's Sun Newspaper, Victoria Beckham shows off her cutting edge new look, the messy bob.
Now I'm not being big headed, but I think we all know where she got that idea from...
